Can you add on additional rag prints to other pledge levels?

Yes you can, we have a fully integrated Backerkit system! At the end of the project, you will be sent a survey that allows you to add as many extra prints as you want!

The transaction for these additional prints is made separately to the Kickstarter one allowing you to spread the payment too.

Tell me more about the Canvas Prints.

These fine art prints are printed on high grade cotton canvas with our special inks. Not only are they amazingly vivid but they are super durable too.

These are shipped without the wooden structural frame, and come with special corner markers meaning it is easy for your framer to wrap them precisely.

The exact dimensions of these do vary depending on what image you choose, this is because some are square, some are rectangular etc.

Tell me more about the Rag Vellum Prints

Rag Vellum is a special fine art paper that is made from 100% cotton, these are best suited to glass frames which have window mats.

They are all printed in standard US or International A sizes so with any luck this year you can simply go to the store and pick a frame off the shelf rather than having to pay for the expense of a custom made on.

As with the Canvas prints, these are wrapped carefully in acid free tissue paper and shipped direct to you.

For the 59x42 cm print, are we able to choose from any of the work?

So when you order a rag print you can pick from any design. The majority of these will fit into the standard size which is A3 if you’re working in cm.

The only exception to this rule are the paintings that are square or very long - for these images the prints will be slightly different sizes to accommodate their aspect ratio.

How does it charge? Sunlight/normal room lights or uv light?

It charges under any light (excluding red lights that you get in photo development labs unsurprisingly), you don’t need any special UV or black lamps or anything like that.

How long it takes to charge fully so that it glows 8hrs?

After about two hours of natural light exposure will make it glow for 8 hours but it really depends on the intensity of the light more than anything.

Put it this way, I somehow managed to get a few tiny particles stuck in the edges of my glasses during a painting session and walking into my dark bedroom after sitting in dim lights at my computer, I can see them glowing - it’s actually hilariously frustrating because It makes seeing what I’m doing even harder with the glare in my eyes.

Is there any way to hang the rag prints up openly like a canvas painting rather than framing it up to hang it?

Well cotton rag is like a fine art paper. So It really depends how precious you are about conserving the prints. Personally these prints should be framed properly however, at the end of the day it’s you reward and its your choice.

Normally framing is the best way to protect them, but I’ve had backers use thumbtacks to pin the corners to walls, or even ones that have used those frameless clip frames. (although this obviously wrecks the conservation of the piece over time as the glass touches the artwork)

I suspect you could even paste it to a board and hang it that way too. But you may want to varnish it to protect it from the elements at very minimum if you’re doing this.

Can I pick a specific piece (and be ensured that you will get that piece) or whether there will be a limited choice depending on what is left after everyone else has chosen?

We will print enough so that wveryone will receive exactly the prints they request.

Fortunately the limited edition in this project means that as soon as this project is over they will no longer be printed - Rather than having a set number per each piece.

Will the product will ship rolled or folded or is it already stretched?

The prints are always carefully rolled and shipped in tubes.

We had so many fully framed pieces damaged in transit last year that even with amazing packaging, it’s really hard to guarantee that a postage handler wont want to use it as a football at some point in its journey.

We even had one turn up last year with tyre tracks over it and one with a forklift prong poked through it. (like seriously come onnnnn)

After dealing with hundreds from last year we found that the postage tube system is the safest way to deliver it anywhere consistently - especially since some countries have average to poor postage systems.

The original pieces if they have to be shipped by air, are carefully unpinned from their frames, rolled in a tube and shipped to a framer who is local to the backer, where they are then re-stretched and then hand delivered - its the only way to full guarantee their safety.

How difficult would you say it will be for me to frame these? Do these have to be stretched and stapled onto wood frames? How does it work?

Assuming we’re talking about the canvas prints :) These are best dealt with a framer who can set up the stretcher bars for you.

However if you are feeling handy, I’ve had backers in the past who’ve made their own stretcher bars.

You’ll need a length of stretcher bar wood, a solid staple gun, a good 45 degree cutting tool, and some canvas stretching clamps to complete the tasks if you were to do it yourself.

As for the cotton rag prints, these frames can be bought off the shelf as we’re using standard sizing this year to make your life easier.

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
